Having a business Facebook page, there are different roles that are available to manage the page.
With the above chart from Facebook, you can see what each role has access to. The one I want to discuss is the Admin Privileges.
First off let me say, when it comes to Local Businesses, the only person who should have access as an ADMIN
is the business owner!
If the business owner would like to give additional
admin privileges
to someone they
impeccably trust
, that is fine. However, please keep in mind now, that individual, can remove the business owner from the page or assign them a different role.
I have seen it many times, where the business owner had an employee or family member, create the page and then when the employee quits or is terminated, or the family members have a disagreement, there has been posts put up, let's just say, that are not a reflection of the business. Or even worse the business owner has lost complete access to their page. Getting that access back is a very daunting task and takes significant time to do.
Being an admin gives you access to everything on the page starting with General settings
, which is not available to other roles. All the features that accompany "General Setting" will only have access by an admin. On a side note, if your company moves it location or changes their name, you need to be an Admin to make those changes. To have your page verified, which is also an important feature that affects your ranking. Once Facebook verifies your page a grey checkmark will appear for a business or organization. A blue checkmark will appear for celebrities or public figures.
So when it comes to a Business Facebook Page, make sure it is the business owner or a professional in the industry that you trust and has the business's best interest at heart, to have admin rights! Save yourself the headache if the "what if" ever happens.
If you have any questions, please give me a call, text, Facebook message or email. I would be happy to answer any questions.
